The issue started out intermittently where it would fire when turned over and the shutdown immediately. Eventually after a couple of tries or after starting it with the throttle raised it would continue to run and act normal. There can be many reasons why your John Deere tractor will not start. You need to see if that is getting 12VDC to it and if it clicks, what the voltage is now on that large red wire once it clicks. It could easily be a neutral safety switch. Wayne. Yes, as I said earlier the starter has an integral solonoid. You need to see if that is getting 12VDC to it and if it clicks, what the voltage is now on that large red wire once it clicks. The main power jet may be clogged or the fuel level in the bowl is too low, fuel filter clogged, port to fuel pump from crank case may be loose.
